5 Powerful Duas for Protection & Calamities
In a world filled with unseen harms and uncertainties, a believer’s strongest weapon is Dua. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us specific supplications that act as an impenetrable fortress against evil eye, magic, sudden calamities, and the whispers of Shaytan.
Here are 5 ultimate authentic shields from the Quran and Sunnah for complete protection and resilience.
Dua for Protection from Everything (Bismillahilladhi)
Importance: The Prophet (PBUH) said: “There is no servant who recites this three times every morning and every evening, and is then harmed by anything.” It is a complete shield against physical and spiritual harm.
Transliteration: Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma’as-mihi shai’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Sami’ul-‘Alim.
English Translation: “In the Name of Allah, with whose Name is protection against everything in the earth and the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing.” (Sunan Abu Dawud: 5088 & At-Tirmidhi)
Ayatul Kursi: The Greatest Verse for Protection
Importance: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) described Ayatul Kursi as the greatest verse in the Book of Allah. Reciting it once in the morning protects one until evening, and reciting it before sleep protects one from Shaytan until morning.
Transliteration: Allahu la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum, la ta’khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm, lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard, man dhal-ladhi yashfa’u ‘indahu illa bi-idhnih, ya’lamu ma baina aidihim wa ma khalfahum, wa la yuhituna bi shai’in min ‘ilmihi illa bima sha’a, wasi’a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ard, wa la ya’uduhu hifzuhuma, wa Huwal-‘Aliyyul-‘Azim.
English Translation: “Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255)
3 Quls: Protection from Evil Eye & Black Magic
Importance: The Prophet (PBUH) said that reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas three times each in the morning and evening will suffice you against everything (harm).
1. Surah Al-Ikhlas (The Sincerity) Recite: Qul Huwallahu Ahad…
2. Surah Al-Falaq (The Daybreak) Recite: Qul A’udhu bi Rabbil-Falaq…
3. Surah An-Nas (The Mankind) Recite: Qul A’udhu bi Rabbin-Nas…
(Sunan Abu Dawud: 5082 & At-Tirmidhi)
