3 Powerful Duas Against Enemies & Oppression

Islam teaches us to strive for peace, but when faced with oppression, injustice, or enmity, a believer turns to Allah for protection and victory. The Prophets of Allah faced the fiercest enemies and tyrants, yet they overcame them through the power of Tawakkul (trust) and sincere Dua.

Here are 3 of the most powerful authentic Duas from the Quran and Sunnah to shield yourself from enemies, remain safe from unjust authority, and seek divine victory.

Dua for Victory: Triumph Over Oppressors & Injustice

Importance: This Dua was recited by the small army of Talut (Saul) and Dawud (AS) when they faced the mighty army of Jalut (Goliath). Despite being outnumbered, their sincere plea for patience, firm footing, and victory was answered by Allah, and they defeated the tyrant.

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana afrigh ‘alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna ‘alal-qawmil-kafirin.

English Translation: “Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:250)

Dua Against Enemies: Protection from Harm & Rivals

Importance: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited this powerful supplication during the Battle of the Trench (Ahzab) against the confederate armies. It invokes Allah’s attributes as the Revealer of the Book and the Swift Reckoner to defeat and shake the resolve of the enemies.

Transliteration: Allahumma Munzilal-Kitab, sari’al-hisab, ihzimil-ahzab, Allahumma ihzimhum wa zalzilhum.

English Translation: “O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift in reckoning, defeat the confederates. O Allah, defeat them and shake them.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari: 2933 & Sahih Muslim)

Dua for Authority: Safety from Unjust Rulers

Importance: This is the Quranic supplication of Prophet Musa (AS). He declared this protection when facing the arrogance and threat of Pharaoh. It is the ultimate shield for anyone fearing harm from a powerful authority, boss, or ruler who does not fear the Day of Judgment.

إِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ

Transliteration: Inni ‘udhtu bi Rabbi wa Rabbikum min kulli mutakabbirin la yu’minu bi yawmil-hisab.

English Translation: “Indeed, I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account.” (Surah Ghafir, 40:27)
