Prayer Sujood Dua – Arabic, English With audio Video
Sujood (or Sajdah) is the most humble and sacred position in Salah. When a Muslim places their forehead on the ground, they are at the closest point to Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The closest that a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so increase your supplication in it.”
(Sahih Muslim)
That’s why the Sujood dua is not just a ritual — it’s an opportunity to glorify and connect with Allah deeply.

Sujood Dua In Arabic (Sajdah Position)
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأَعْلَى
Sujood Dua English Transliteration
Subḥāna Rabbiyal-A‘lā
Sajdah Dua Meaning:
“Glory is to my Lord, the Most High.”
Sunnah: Recite it at least 3 times, or more (in odd numbers: 3, 5, 7…)

Arabic:
سُبُّوحٌ قُدُّوسٌ، رَبُّ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالرُّوحِ
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلَّهُ، دِقَّهُ وَجِلَّهُ، وَأَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ، وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ وَسِرَّهُ
Transliteration:
Subbūḥun Quddūsun, Rabbul-Malā’ikati war-Rūḥ
Allahumma ighfir lī dhanbī kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, wa awwalahu wa ākhirahu, wa ‘alāniyatahu wa sirrah
Meaning:
“Most Glorious, Most Holy, Lord of the angels and the Spirit.”
“O Allah, forgive me all my sins — the small and the great, the first and the last, the open and the hidden.”
Between 2 Sujood Dua (Arabic Text)
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي، رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي
English Transliteration:
Rabbi ighfir lī, Rabbi ighfir lī
English Meaning
“My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me.”
Sunnah: This dua was regularly recited by the Prophet ﷺ (Sunan Abi Dawood)
Extended Version of the Dua (From Sunnah)
Some companions narrated that the Prophet ﷺ would also say a more detailed version:

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، وَاجْبُرْنِي، وَاهْدِنِي، وَعَافِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي، وَارْفَعْنِ
Transliteration:
Allahummaghfir lī, warḥamnī, wajburnī, wahdinī, wa ‘āfinī, warzuqnī, warfa’nī
English Meaning:
“O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, strengthen me, guide me, grant me good health, provide for me, and elevate me.”
You can recite this in Nafl, Sunnah, or when you have time in Salah. In fard prayer, the shorter version is common.
When to Say This Dua?
Right after the first sujood and before the second sujood in every unit of Salah. The posture is sitting (called Jalsah) with calmness and pause.
