Sleep & Waking Up: 7 Essential Sunnah Duas
Sleep is one of the greatest signs of Allah’s mercy and power.
Allah (SWT) mentions in the Holy Quran:
“And among His Signs is your sleep by night and by day, and your seeking of His Bounty. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who listen.” (Surah Ar-Rum, 30:23)
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us that sleep is a minor death, and waking up is a return to life. By reciting the Sunnah Adhkar (supplications) before sleeping and upon waking up, a believer transforms a natural habit into an act of worship (Ibadah). These Duas provide protection from the Shaytan, peace of heart, and physical strength. Here are 7 essential Sunnah Duas to sanctify your sleep and waking hours.
Dua for Waking Up: Morning Supplication
Importance: This is the very first verbal act of gratitude a believer expresses upon returning to consciousness, acknowledging that life and death are in Allah’s hands.
